Born Elizabeth Griscom in Philadelphia of Quaker parents, this upholsterer and seamstress met George Washington when she sewed a button on his pants—probably with him still in them. Subsequently, he and a couple of his pals asked her to stitch the national flag, for which she used hemp (heh, heh!). Though she eloped to Jersey, her heart belonged in Philadelphia, and that's why her last meal will be a cheesesteak from 99 Miles to Philly—with Whiz and fried onions, as they do it at Pat's and Geno's in South Philly.
