Tortured Soul, the funky Brooklyn trio made up of J Kriv, Ethan White, and John-Christian Urich, are one of those groups that find themselves so much better known overseas than at home. “I’ve met a lot of folks in Europe who talk about making the pilgrimage to NYC to check out Shelter or Body & Soul or Roots––a few of the great soulful house parties that happen in NYC,” White says. After an East Coast hiatus, the guys are back to perform for a hometown crowd, and Tortured Soul followers should know the guys will be trying out some new tracks. “But not to worry,” J Kriv proclaims, “the old faves will still be in the set too.”
